Ummagma is a Ukrainian / Canadian indie post-rock duo offering easy positive progressive music with richly layered etheric soundscapes and resonant sound. This is a duo formed of Alexx Kretov (composition, instruments, arrangement, recording, vocals) and Shauna McLarnon (vocals, composition, lyrics). For Alexx, making music began in childhood and recording began with a double-deck recorder. Shauna’s experience in creating music began with acappella compositions while attending university. This joint project began as an affair with love and sound in Moscow back in 2003. The musical style is vacillating and broad, ranging from 3-minute songs to lengthy landscapes of pulsating sound.
